浅析语境与词语内涵的相关性(英文)

Abstract: Vocabulary is the basic element of language which can convey a wide variety of cultural ideological content. Context is an important factor which impacts the expression of language formed by varieties of vocabulary. The intension meaning of the vocabulary is a complicated language phenomenon. This paper starts with the links among the definition, origin, and nature of word connotation, several connections with context to illustrate the relativity of context and word connotation comprehensively, and finally to reveal the essence of context, discipline of constitution and the basic features which constraint and impact the expression of word connotation and the process of understanding. Thus to enable people to use the proper word connotation in communication, and achieve the optimum efficiency of communication.

摘 要：作为语言的基本要素，词汇能传达丰富的文化思想内涵，而语境是影响由词汇构成的语言表达效果的一个重要因素。词汇的内涵意义是一个复杂的语言现象。本文从词语内涵意义的定义，产生，性质，与语境的联系几个方面入手，比较全面地概括了内涵意义与语境的相关性，并揭示出了制约和影响词语内涵表达和理解过程的语境的本质、构成规律和基本特征。从而使人们在交际中正确使用词语的内涵意义，达到交流的最佳效果。

Introduction
In recent years, people's study on the language and culture relation has gradually formed the focus, the voice of carrying on culture and channeling in teaching into runs high day by day too. People realize the importance of words in respects such as the foreign language teaching, translating more and more. So, probed into the property, characteristic of the intension meaning of the word and produced the source, and further seek how to obtain understanding to that the intension meaning is relatively correct which should be a meaningful subject. The reliance linguistic context of the meaning of a word, the linguistic context is restricting the meaning of a word.
In this paper, through large investigations, it finally reveals the essence of context、discipline of constitution and the basic features which constraint and impact the expression of word connotation and the process of understanding. when translating from English to Chinese, utilize linguistic context to confirm that point, make many justice and ambiguous phenomenon of the middle term of original text obtain clear unitarity; need to create the expression form with special translation according to the expression of the particular linguistic context of the original text; confirm passing judgement on intension of the meaning of a word through the linguistic context; utilize linguistic context to dispel ambiguously, make the meaning of a word specify; line with function through the benefit of the linguistic context, obtain the meaning between the lines correctly.
This paper consists of four components. The first chapter defines two basic theories and concepts of word connotation and context. The second chapter summarizes the nature and characteristics of word connotation. The third chapter summarizes the nature and characteristics of context. The forth chapter raises the relativity of context and word connotation.

1  Basic theories and concepts of context and connotation
The most essential function of the language is its social communication function. The communication of language can not go on in the vacuum, it must take place in certain occasion, i.e. our usually said linguistic context.
The linguistic context is a foundation of communication of language. The language and linguistic context are the interrelated organic whole, ignore this mutual dependence, people's communication is unable to realize. Just as the human linguist Malinowski who is the promise of Polish borderland of London University said in the book "meanings of the meaning" that: "Words and environment each other closely mustered together, the language environment is essential to understanding languages".
1. 1 Definition of context
Context refers to the expression of a particular significance depends on the language of environment, including the context which is posed by various languages factors (such as the phrase, sentence, paragraph or chapter), and also includes the various subjective and objective factors which are necessary when a certain expression of a particular language expression expresses a particular significance in the process of communication. (Such as time, place, occasion, the purpose of communication, the content of communication, the objects of communication, etc.)
British social anthropologist Malinowski once pointed out that: “They regard context as the sole determiner of meaning without which meaning does not exist[1].” One of the famous linguists in our country who is named Zhang zhigong also pointed: “Language is always used in a certain environment, so when analysis the phenomenon of language, we must link it and the context it depends on, it is difficult to determine the language and language of fragmented structure when we analysis each fragments independently in no certain context.”转贴于 酷文网-论文下载中心 http://www.coolwen.net
