在英语教学中如何调动学生的积极性(英文)

Abstract: English is an important course for Chinese students. However, for a long time there has been a discussion over how to teach English efficiently. As we all know, interest is the best teacher. In order to cultivate the students’ interest, first of all, we should try to make them enthusiastic about learning English. If the students have no interest, they will not want to learn, or even hate learning, surely they cannot learn well. To a great extend, the effect in English language teaching is restricted by students’ enthusiasm, so in English language teaching, teachers should change their teaching concepts, improve their teaching methods in order to stimulate students’ enthusiasm. Therefore, according to some basic theories of English methodology, this paper gives some useful suggestions to stimulate students’ enthusiasm in English teaching. It is a contribution to the discussion of some important approaches of stimulating students’ enthusiasm in learning English by focusing on how to use various methods to stimulate students’ enthusiasm.

摘  要：英语是一门对中国学生很重要的课程。然而在相当长的一段时间以来学术界一直在讨论如何进行有效地英语教学。众所周知，兴趣是最好的老师。为了培养兴趣，首先老师应该对学习英语充满激情，充分调动学生主观能动性。如果学生没有兴趣，他们不会愿意去学，甚至讨厌学习，理所当然的他们都不可能学得很好。在很大程度上，英语教学效果是受学生学习积极性约束的，所以在英语教学中，为了激发学生的兴趣，老师应该改变他们的教学观念，改进教学方法。通过英语教学法的一些基本理论，本文在英语教学中如何调动学生的积极性给出了一些有效的对策。

Introduction
In recent years, English has become a compulsory course about which people are more and more concerned. As we all know, English is a language which is different from our native tongue. English is widely used in the world, and people are aware of the importance and necessity in English learning. With the rapid development and reform of the education in our country, people begin to know that the educational quality of schools depends on the quality of teachers. Harmer defines “the teacher’s role as a controller, assessor, organizer, prompter, participant and resource-provider” [1]. Besides, according to FuDaochun’s opinion the teacher’s thinking should change with the development of society. Teachers are considered as facilitators, guides, and researchers and so on. Enthusiasm is the internal power to spur students’ learning. Teachers should according to the different time, different places and different persons find out more useful teaching methods that can stimulate students’ enthusiasm, enhance the teaching effect in English classroom and increase the students’ motivation in English learning. It is natural that enthusiasm is the positive factor of learning English. Teachers should pay more attention to the whole English teaching and learning. Enthusiasm is also the active power of English learning, and runs through the whole learning process. So in the school education, teachers should also pay more attention to the English practice and maintaining the students’ enthusiasm in English learning. It is clear that enthusiasm can decide the success of the whole English teaching and learning. In the teaching and learning process, teachers should renew the teaching concept and change their teaching methods, and use the scientific, creative and constructive teaching methods to build and maintain the students’ enthusiasm. Teachers should make students gain lots of knowledge and happiness from their studies. It’s necessary that teachers should keep their students active and creative in English learning.
    As the saying goes, interest is the best teacher and it is quite true that the students’ enthusiasm in learning is difficult to spur without interest. All the teachers should try their best to stimulate their students’ interest in English learning in order to help students learn English well. The paper is emphasizing how to stimulate enthusiasm in English teaching.

1  Relationship between interest and enthusiasm
Psychological research proves that interest is a psychological tendency that people want to know certain things and positively work on them, so as to understand them well. With interest, people must be enthusiastic about what he wants to do.
Interest is the key point of learning English well. The raise of interest is advantageous for improving students’ quality. Once the students are interested in English, they can display the enthusiasm and self-consciousness and their body and mind will be very joyful. The research indicates that when one is in good mood, his pituitary body will do the metabolism activity positively in the endocrine system, which makes the metabolism speed up, and it will form the excited center in the cerebral cortex of the human brain. At that time, people's mood is at the positive condition, and the thought is agile, with the working efficiency high. Therefore, the interesting study is to learn happily, and the interesting teaching method conforms to the principle of psychology, physiology and pedagogy.
