5. 3 The interactive reading approach has three stages
The interactive teaching divides reading into three stages: the stage before reading, the stage during reading and the stage after reading.
5. 3. 1 The stage before reading
Teachers guides the students used the interactive approach. Teachers provide lacking knowledge and help them to organize knowledge, improve interesting. In this stage, teacher should been depend teaching content and level of students. Through the heading, key word or scene guided them to guess content. It can train their forecast and use background and etc.
5. 3. 2 The stage during reading
At this stage, it grounds situation in language stage, background and so on. we can find optimal link from the relationship. Specially, the article teaching is not teach over that should advance some claim, devise some activities and guide students use interactive reading method. Teachers train students scanning, predictive, inferential comprehension and so on.
5. 3. 3 The stage after reading
At this stage, it is further to examine the degree that the student's reading comprehension, and to strengthen its language knowledge, train its technical ability. The teacher can design some activities which have something to do with text, let the student rewrite dialogue and a short play such as some texts with stronger stories, role-play by the student. It not only increases the student's speech, but also rises their interesting in the students. Some texts can repeat under the teacher’s guide and help the students understand sentence and language’s point, train their expressive ability. Additionally, a lot of actives were popular with students that included discussion, debate, description, language game, intelligence competition after reading. It emphasize the teacher teaches students language knowledge, theory knowledge, trains students used different reading tactics and students used interactive.
5. 4 Collect various schemas
The interactive approach reading has report with schema. Students will build up a varied that helps them get new knowledge. The schema included language schema, content schema and structure schema. Generally speaking, English teaching emphasize on language schema, not emphasize on content schema and structure schema. Therefore, in teaching, teacher should strengthen the accumulation of content schema and structure schema. Through analysis article, accumulate structure schema. Structure schema that helps reader understands of article knowledge. It can guide reader hold article and improve the efficiency of reading. The purpose that analysis article, whole article is not a part of article. These ways semantic of itself, it is on basis of people get from amount articles. Reader remembers that schema can guide to read. Reader know that schema where is in article. They can hold as overall as to improve the quality of reading. In foreign language learning, we not only emphasize on communion of knowledge. Students must face to background knowledge and grasp in foreign language. The communion of knowledge own by students. The knowledge called content schema strengthens improves in native language. Therefore, we study foreign language, students must stress language knowledge, and the others through native language improve professional knowledge, interdisciplinary knowledge. Reader can expend of knowledge and imagination. Chinese culture and western culture have differences that will lead to obstacle to read comprehension. Therefore, students must have rich background foreign language.
5. 5 Extending reading
Extending reading improves automation degree of students reading. In foreign language teaching, in the order to establish and enrich schema for students, teacher should be guide that students read book about national culture. For example, political, art history, the United States geography, British geography and so on. Because students familiar with the article, in qualified sense they can make complete lacking of language knowledge. Students formed a habit of thinking fill with the lake of culture. They have positive effect. To ensure students will finish amount of reading. They can apply discussion, talks, oral report and so on to do test. Teachers are allowed to feedback. As students extension and complement for reading class. This is a good way.
5. 6 Supporting extra-curriculum reading
If the best way to improve one’s knowledge of a foreign language is to go and live among its speakers, then the next best way is to read extensively in it. According to krashen[9], learners need to exposed to large amounts of comprehensible input which meaningful, relevant, and interesting, in a stress-free environment, and clearly individual extensive reading outside classroom is valuable to our students. Students will not become fluent readers overnight, and it may take a long time before there is a marked improvement in their reading abilities. Students learn to read by reading and they also need to read fast with full understanding. To achieve this they are encouraged to read extensively.
