论内外向型性格对英语学习的影响(英文)

An important aim of learning language is to use it to communicate. Thus it is significant to help introverted students improve their ability of speaking. Introverted students are afraid to be wrong, and not good at communicating with others. Teachers may first make sure these characteristics of introverted students and then design relevant teaching tasks. During English classes, teachers may give some simple and interesting topics for students to discuss, and encourage introverted students to give their ideas. Besides, teachers could reasonably arrange presentations, week reports and drama performance to give students especially introverted students more chances to speak and use English in class. During the teaching activities, teachers may constantly encourage and care introverted students to waken their desire of expression. When introverted students express in English, teachers may remember the principle “fluent first”, give them praise and encouragement at right time thus to make introverted students more confident in speaking English.
4. 2 Some suggestions for English students
Students are the main body in English learning, thus it is significant for them to recognize the effects of their personalities on English learning and adopt the suitable learning methods to improve their weak points in English learning. Although personality has a feature of stability, students of different personalities can still remind them to change in a certain degree if they know the advantages and disadvantages of their personalities in English learning. Here, some suggestions will be given to English students.
Although extroverted students may speak English fluently and quickly, they are easy to make mistakes in grammar and sentence structure for the some possible reasons that they speak too quickly or lack careful thinking in their speaking. Thus, in order to speaking English fluently and correctly, extroverted students should learn to think carefully. When speaking English, extroverted students can remind them to think twice about the meaning they want to show out. As extroverted students may be of less concentration when they do readings, they should force them to finish readings in a certain time, and after doing a lot of practices like this, they must be more concentrated when doing readings. When coming across some new vocabularies, extroverted students should try to understand them in thorough way so that they can use them correctly.
To improve speaking is the most urgent for introverted students. As introverted students are shy and fear to be wrong in speaking English, they can first practice oral English with familiar friends so that they are not so nervous and shy. Introverted students should make clear that an important purpose of leaning English is to communicate it with others, so they should make every effort to speak their English. Introverted students should extend knowledge of different fields constantly so they can have topics and something to say when talking with others in practice. At the beginning, introverted students may have some difficulties to express themselves, such as they cannot speak out what they are thinking about and they may feel difficult to speak fluently. In this situation, it’s not wise for them to give up speaking, or they can never improve their skills to communicate English with others. Only by insisting on expressing ideas at one’s best no matter what difficulties he or she has can a student improve his Oral English.
 From the interviews to excellent introverted students and extroverted students, we can conclude that for those who learn well in English, they have one same characteristic: self-restraint. No matter extroverted students or introverted students, if they can restraint them well, they may learn better in English learning than those who have no self-restraint.

Conclusion
This study mainly discusses the effects of extroverted/introverted personality on English learning. There have been some researches in this field. Most of them show that personality difference is closely related to second language learning. Aiming to explain the relationship between extroverted/introverted personality and achievements of English learning, and also the different performance between extroverted students and introverted students in English learning, this study chooses 60 Grade4 English majors as research subjects. From the results of two questionnaires given to participants: one is about personality and the other is about students’ performance in English learning, the study concludes that extroverted/introverted character may not be a determinant factor in English learning, but it can affect English learners’ level in speaking and reading. And students of different personality perform differently in English learning. Both extroverted students and introverted students have their advantages and disadvantages in English learning. Extroverted students are active, and good at expressing themselves. They are open minded and like to communicate with others. These characteristics make them have advantages in English speaking. But they are not good at reading because they may lack patience and concentration. Introverted students have advantages in reading thanks to their careful thinking and concentration. However, they have disadvantages in speaking as they are too shy and lack communicative skills to express themselves. According to the research results, the thesis gives some suggestions to English teachers and students according to characteristics of the two personalities so as to help students of different personalities improve their English, and grasp English in full scale.  转贴于 酷文网-论文下载中心 http://www.coolwen.net
