3 Research analysis and main findings
All together there were 100 questionnaires given out, and 64 of them were taken back. Finally 60 questionnaires were selected to be effective.
3. 1 Research analysis
The author tries to analyze the effective questionnaires and the records of the interview. The results are put in the five following tables along with the explanations.
3. 1. 1 Results of attached part of personal information and EPQ
The following table shows the results of participants’ self-evaluation on extrovert /introverted personality and opinions on relationship between personality and English learning.
Table 3.1 The results of personal ideas

The table 3.1 reflects that 90% of the investigated students think personality can affect English learning, and only 10% of students hold that there is no relationship between personality and English learning. 35% of students believe extroversion has advantage in English learning, 20% of students think neutral character has advantage in English learning, and introversion can facilitate English learning in the eyes of 16% of the students.
After the EPQ-RSC was completed, statistics were collected and analyses were carried out with Excel 2003. The results are put in the following table.

From the above table, we can see among all the 60 English major students, 15 are obviously extroverted. 20 students tend to be extroverted, and 9 are of introversion, 16 tend to be introverts. Those who are relatively extroverted or introverted may think they have neutral characters. However, they still tend to be of one character more than the other, so in this study, the author classifies obvious extroversion and relative extroversion to the type of extroversion, and obvious introversion and relative introversion to the type of introversion. Consequently, 35 (about 58%) of the investigated students are extroverted students, and 25 (about 42%) of the students are introverts.
3. 1. 2 Results of the questionnaire about English majors’ performance
The results of the questionnaire about English majors’ performance in English learning shows that students of different personality perform very differently in learning English. Table2 shows the results of the questionnaire:
