    A Few Trends in the Development of Media Websites ：A Brief Comparison BetweenChinese and American Media Websites ZHANG Yong-hua

    Abstract：In resent years ，with the rapid development of the Internet ，mediawebsites have become a new scene in the changing media landscape.This paper studiesthrough observing media websites，interviewing some journalists and reviewing relatedliterature，the process of development of media websites in the Mainland of Chinaand compares it with that in the Unites States.It observes that through about fiveyears of growth ，up till 2000，the development of media websites in China haddisplayed the trends towards a number of media institutions jointly establishingand operating a website ，towar ds the enlargement of scale ，towards providinga diversified and distinctive content ，and towards an increase in social influence.Furthermore ，it points out that in the aspects of a number of media institutionsjoining hands to share information resources when practicing online journalism，of their efforts in enriching website content and improving the distinctive featuresso as to increase the attraction of media websites，and of establishing media websiteswith wide-spread influence，we can draw on the experience of US media practicewith operating websites.转贴于 酷文网-论文下载中心 http://www.coolwen.net
