简析传记作品的文学属性及其文学价值(英文)

Abstract: This paper attempts to discuss the biographical works from the aspect of its attributes and literature value by meticulously selecting many fresh examples. The author puts forwards the idea of the literature attribute of biography and the value of literature. It concludes the correlation between the literature attribute of biography and literature value of biographical works. In biographical works, none of them can be omitted. The research is of great significance to find the artistic beauty of biography through the aspects of the biographical literature attributes and value.

摘  要: 本文通过精选例子，从传记作品的属性及其文学价值角度试图研究传记作品。作者提出了传记文学性和传记文学价值的概念。得出传记的文学性、文学价值以及传记文学艺术具有相互关联性，在传记作品中，它们缺一不可。本研究是从文学价值和传记属性两个角度找出传记文学的艺术美，具有深刻意义。

Introduction
In recent years, people become more and more interested in whether the biographical works should be created by literature skills and how important literature art is in biographical works. We know biography is a special type of literature. Its character and its skills of creation are still the argument points of writers, but today, people prefer to think that the biography belongs to literary.
Hence forward, Chinese composers, such like Hu Shi and Yu Dafu have contributed a lot to developing the academic theory of biographical literature attribute. Nowadays, scholars of biographer, at home and abroad, have been drawing more and more attention to it. The modern biography theorist Hamilton and Andre Maurois have reshaped and developed the new concepts of biographical value and attribute. They also put forwards to find methods to improve the art of biographical works in order to make the biography more impressive and valuable.
In spite of the growing research on such field, there is also an area left unattended. That is why the literature attribute of biography is so important, if biography has literature attribute, and what kind of relationship is between the biographical value and its literature attribute? Whether there is any relevant thing between the art of biography and literature value? The aim of this paper is to have a systematic research on these problems.
In this paper, these research questions will be discussed through three aspects. Chapter 1 serves as an overview of current situation of biographical works and in this chapter, the author will also point out the current problem of biographical creations. Chapter 2 describes the two main characters of biography. It also includes the importance of literature character of biography. Chapter 3 proceeds to analyze the literature value of biography. Chapter 4 includes three parts to analyze the correlation between the literature attribute and literature value of biography. Finally a conclusion is provided.

1  The current situation of biography.
Biographical works catch more and more attention to the biographical theorists from the domestic and abroad. Today, there is also a biographical rush and the popular argument of biographical character in biographical studies and the author believes that biography is a kind of promising literature creation; we should pay more attention to this literature field.
1. 1 The biographical rush
When we researched the history of literary, although we cannot get a panoramic view of the literature world, some great changes of it are obvious to us. One of them is that biographical works become more and more important. After a long period of development, human beings become strong gradually; they discovered that they prefer to cope with the reality with the experience. Moreover, the other literature fictions have been explored by scholars for several thousand years, in such kind of literature field, there is limited space left, on the contrary, the biographical works are still a new land for us to explore. We all know that the literary value, psychological effectiveness and the education function of biography are unique. For all these reasons, the importance of biography is known by us day by day. As Samuel Johnson’s description of biography:“No species of writing seems more worthy of cultivation than biography. No other form can more certainly enchain the heart by irresistible interest, or more widely diffuse instruction to every diversity of condition”.[1] Today, biography is at the forefront of literary culture. Biography has become the most popular, the most controversial and contested area of nonfiction broadcasting and publishing in the world. It forms a biographical rush. This trend leads us to explore the biographical world. Today, biographers became free to examine, record, and interpret the lives of prominent living individuals with impunity, so long as there was no reckless or malicious disregard for the truth. This freedom of creating lets biographical works enter a golden age for its creation.
