Research on the Methodology and Its Application for Urban Traffic Management and Planning

　　Abstract: Urban traffic management and planning is the basis of the sustainable development of a city. The present situation about urban traffic management and planning in China is introduced and analyzed in this paper. The purpose, content and the process of planning are discussed deeply, and the analysis methodology on traffic demand forecast are presented and the models of traffic demand are established. Finally taking Harbin Urban Traffic Management and Planning and Daqing Urban Traffic Management and Planning as the cases, the application of the theory of urban traff ic management and planning in big cities of China is introduced.
